Dutchess County Residents: Remember True Meaning of Memorial Day
Poughkeepsie… Memorial Day is Monday, May 27th. Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro and Veterans Services Director Nelson Eddy Rivera, USN (Ret) encourage residents to remember the sacrifices of veterans who have died in service to our country and participate in the many Memorial Day ceremonies and parades taking place across the county. The Dutchess County Division of Veterans will host a special Memorial Day Illumination ceremony and vigil at the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park on Sunday, May 26th at 7:45 pm at the flag pole in the center of the Walkway.

Dutchess Rail Trail Parking Lot at Morgan Lake to be Closed Next Week for Paving Work
Poughkeepsie… The Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced paving work is scheduled to begin next week on the Dutchess Rail Trail parking lot at Morgan Lake on Creek Road in Poughkeepsie. Work will include grading the parking lot and a first course of asphalt.

County Offers Workers’ Comp Savings Opportunities to Local Municipalities
Poughkeepsie, NY… As part of continuing efforts to offer shared services, deliver greater efficiencies and overall reduce the cost of government, Dutchess County Executive Marcus J. Molinaro is expanding the opportunity for Dutchess County municipalities and public agencies to participate in the County’s Self-insured Worker’s Compensation Plan as a way to reduce premium costs.
