Molinaro, potential GOP candidate for governor, schmoozes in Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Marcus Molinaro, the Dutchess County executive who’s considering running for governor in two years, met with Onondaga County Republican Committee leaders Thursday as he tries to build name recognition throughout the state.

Molinaro met with about 40 Republican county committee members and potential donors over lunch at the Sheraton University before heading west to Wayne County to repeat his performance there.

“If taxpayers throughout the state want me to consider running for higher office, I will,” said Molinaro, who has not formed a gubernatorial campaign committee or declared himself a candidate.
